 Frequently Asked Questions
What if I have a mixture of precious metals? We will give you the individual prices for each piece of precious metal that we receive from you.
Should I include the box with the jewellery that I send in? No, please do not send boxes. Any boxes that are sent to us will not be returned.
What happens if the market value of my gold changes after I've sent in my items? Our prices are based on the London Gold Fix price for gold which is set at 10:30am and 3pm daily. Our valuation for your gold will be based on the London Gold Fix price applicable when we receive your items. We will then email or telephone you with an offer for your gold and that offer will be valid for 24 hours from the time that the email is sent by us, or from the time that we contact you by telephone. If you decide NOT to accept our offer for your gold, your items will be returned to you by special delivery. Please note that we reserve the right to charge for postage and packaging when returning items to you.
What if my gold does not carry a hallmark? As soon as we receive your gold we analyse it for purity and weight. Non hallmarked gold may require further testing and should this require extra time we will contact you and let you know.
What happens if my gold weight does not agree with yours? We have specialist jewellery scales and will inform you of the exact weight of your gold in our analysis.
How will I know if you have received my gold/jewellery? An email will be sent to you keeping you informed at every step of the process. We will telephone you if the package has not been received within a few days of you confirming you will send the package.
How will I know how much my gold is worth? Call one of our gold specialists free on 0800 612 2304 for a guide price. We will be able to give you an approximate value based on what you tell us but ultimately we will not know until we are able to weigh and test your gold.
The gold quote is an estimate, how do I know what your final price will be? When we receive your parcel we will test each item individually to determine its weight and gold content. After we have tested all your items, we will contact you with a firm offer.
